What Is An AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist?
The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary professional association and certifying body. AASECT members include therapists, educators, physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, clergy members, lawyers and researchers. These individuals share an interest in promoting understanding of human sexuality and healthy sexual behavior. AASECT was founded in 1967 and is nationally and globally well-renowned and highly respected by professionals. AASECT has a very rigorous certification process for therapists.
